About

About us

#FreeMyTribe is a movement started by sister organisations Slavery Remembrance & My Tribe. United we held the first London protest outside the Libyan Embassy on 26/11 along with SOAS Student Union and La Fraternite Guineenne. We held our second protest on 09/12, our third protest is scheduled for 18/12 outside parliament. The Movement involves a growing coalition of black organisations (our family) working together to end slavery in Libya. This is a black led movement, but our friends are expected to support us by standing by our side.

Our mission

Our mission is to stop what is happening in Libya by raising awareness and addressing the racist anti-black mind-set that allowed this to happen. Our family or organisations are at work everyday trying to combat and deal with the aftermath of this atrocity. This website is an information resource point for anyone who wants to know what is happening in Libya, why it is happening and what you can do to help. Join us in our fight to FREE MY TRIBE!
